Reading update, August 2015

I like to read and I’ve challenged myself to read at least 50 books this year (that’s a lot for a slow reader). This is how I’ve been keeping myself accountable and how I’ve been keeping track of what I’ve read. I update at the beginning of each month (you can find them under the “Books” category).

For the third month in a row, I’ve hardly read a thing. I haven’t even broken out some audio books to listen to while doing other things. Mostly, I’ve been flipping through guide books for my upcoming trip to la belle Paris.

1. Locavore: From Farmers’ Fields to Rooftop Gardens – How Canadians Are Changing the Way We Eat

This was a really great book. I wrote a review of it, so I won’t say much here. One thing I will mention:if you have any interest in farming, gardening, or food in general, you should consider this book. It’s a good read.

2. Travel Light

This was a delightful of a princess/bear/dragon who had an encounter with Odin All-father that helped to shape the rest of her days. It’s a lovely fairy tale full of magic, fantasy and truth.

In progress:

I started The Widow’s Tale and hoped to have it done before the end of the month, but got distracted with travel plans. So far, I’m finding it very engaging and hard to put down.

I haven’t touched Silently and Very Fast in several weeks, but I expect it will make for good airplane reading this month. I’ve now been reading it for over a year, ha ha.
