September long weekend camping trip

My cousin and I went camping in Banff, again. It was fun, but cold and wet and cold. Also, colder than expected. When we weren’t building epic burning piles of ember in the fire pit, we went for a wonder through the town and over to Cave and Basin, the birthplace of Canada’s national parks (there’s a nice video about Cave and Basin from Travel Alberta).

Tarps: camping necessity!
This tarp was our salvation because it meant that we always had a dry spot to retreat to each time it decided to rain.

Sunlight and campfire smoke.
