Day 15: My shoes

I’m doing a photo challenge for the month of November, despite it being from August 2011, I’ve decided to use this list for my daily prompts.

Forget shoes. They don’t interest me much. In fact, I can name all the shoes I own without having to go and look in my front hall:

  • 2 pairs of dress shoes that I leave at work; one grey, one black, both are flats
  • 2 pairs of nice sandals for work; one teal, one goldy-bronze (currently at home until it’s summer again)
  • 1 pair of teal and purple plaid all-stars (currently at work as back-up shoes)
  • 1 pair of old black flip-flops
  • 1 pair hiking sneakers
  • 1 pair hiking boots

I wear my hiking sneakers all the freaking time, even at work (yes, even though I have dress shoes there, I never wear them unless I’m going to an important meeting in the same building). I’ve been wearing my boots a lot lately because it’s been snowy and my sneakers are getting beat up from being abused by me for a year. I’m just not really into pretty shoes and such. I like sneakers and I like to be comfortable and I like to spend my money on other things.

Slippers, on the other hand, are something that I have been starting to slowly collect. It gets cold in Edmonton and my apartment isn’t the warmest (not even after I seal drafts in the windows, etc.). I currently have three pairs: the dirty white ones are wool, super warm and a gift from my cousin last Christmas; the blue ones are just random fleece ones that are good for mid to late fall temperatures; and, the grey ones are also fleecy and warmish. I wear slippers almost year round, so I want a few more pair (some lighter ones for late spring and some very light ones for cool summer nights).

Slippers are a must in Edmonton. Need to keep the tootsies warm! #photochallenge
