I’m doing a photo challenge for the month of November, despite it being from August 2011, I’ve decided to use this list for my daily prompts.
The 11th is Remembrance Day and I felt weird doing “something fun” on that day. After much thought, I decided to swap today’s prompt with Sunday’s. This means that I didn’t really have much time to think about what to take a picture of, but I feel better not running around trying to find something “fun” on a day meant to remember the fallen and be thankful for those you defend our country and freedoms.
My idea of fun can seem really boring to some people. Sure, I like traditional fun things (dancing, roller coasters, travel, etc.), but I tend to err on the side of things I can do on my own and things that either involve a chance to be creative or to spend some quiet time reflecting on life, nature, anything. I love quilting and sewing. I also enjoy playing with or doodling patterns. Going for walks brings a smile to my face. And, bold colours add a little pizazz, or fun, to my life. This picture encompasses all these things. The yellow is a gorgeous purse I bought from MamaRoux, made with one of my all time favourite Echo fabrics by Lotta Jansdotter. I love the boldness of the pattern and the bright colour. The mittens are one’s I’d purchased because I loved the colour and the fun pattern. They will come one many walks with me. As an added bit of fun, it just so happens that I’m wearing nail polish that match the mittens. And, I really love these colours together. I could make a great quilt with this colour combo.
