Cold waters are full of life

A lot of people assume that marine life, like human, aren’t super fond of the cold, but ecological studies have shown time and time again that the arctic waters are fertile and doing just fine without the help of much warmth. As this post over at The Marine Detective points out, cold waters are teeming with microscopic life, which is why it looks dark and murky. It’s tropical waters (the clear waters that let you easily see through to the bottom) that are barren.
