Lessons learned from my new apartment

It really does pay to fork out extra rent.

My new apartment is leaps and bounds ahead of what my old crappy apartment was like. Yes, I’m still facing North-East, but I’m on an upper floor with great views. My heat works, there aren’t any drafts, I rarely hear the neighbours, and I have only killed one spider since I moved in (one which I probably brought from the old apartment in my boxes).

Suddenly I enjoy going home. It’s relaxing, I sleep well, and I’m comfortable. Sure, I’m paying almost twice as much in rent, but it’s worth every single penny.
